Twisted Green Bean Casserole
2, 14.5 oz. can french style green beans, drained
15.25 oz. can sweet white whole kernel corn, drained
10.5 oz. can cream of chicken & mushroom soup (the combined soup from Campbells, not two soups)
1/4 soup can milk (use the empty can to measure)
8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 small jalapeno, seeded and diced
1 small carrot, grated
1 T. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 C. shredded cheddar cheese
1 C. french fried onions
Combine the first 10 ingredients in a bowl, stir in 1/2 C. of the french fried onions and combine well. Pour into a 2.5 quart casserole dish and bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Remove and top with the remaining onions, return to the oven for 5-7 minutes to brown. Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
