General Tso Sauce Baked Chicken


Sauce 4 T. hoison sauce 2 T. soy sauce 2 T. brown sugar 1 T. rice vinegar 2 tsp. minced garlic 2 tsp. sesame oil 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes 1 T. cornstarch 1/2 C. water


6 bone-in chicken thighs


Whisk together all the sauce ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the sauce for 2 minutes, whisk again and set aside, reserving 1/3 C. of it. Place the chicken thighs skin side down on a baking sheet lined with tinfoil and lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Remove and brush with some of the sauce the return to the oven for 10 minutes. Brush them once again and turn them skin side up. Brush the skin side and return to the oven for 15 minutes. Remove and brush with the remaining sauce and return to the oven for 10 more minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Use the reserved sauce to pour over rice or veggies.
