Crock Pot Pinto Beans with Ham 4/14/23


1 lb. dried pinto beans, washed and sorted (no need to soak them) 1 ham bone 3 C. chicken broth 3 C. water 1 bay leaf 2 T. bacon grease salt and pepper to taste


Add the beans, ham bone, broth, water and bay leaf to your crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 4 1/2 hours. Remove the ham bone and remove any meat from the bone, add the meat back to the crock pot, stir in the bacon grease and season with salt and pepper to taste and cook for 15 minutes. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
